The Department of Tourism (DOT) proudly announces that Cebu has been nominated as “Most Desirable Region (Worldwide)” at the prestigious 24th Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards, hosted by Wanderlust Magazine—the United Kingdom’s longest-running and largest travel publication.
The Philippines has secured nominations in three major categories this year:
- Cebu for Most Desirable Region (Worldwide)
- Palawan for Most Desirable Island (Worldwide)
- The Philippines for Most Desirable Country (Worldwide)
Subcategories such as Culture and Heritage, Nature and Wildlife, Adventure, Gastronomy, and Sustainability are also open for the Philippines, allowing broader recognition of the country’s multifaceted charm.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco welcomed the nominations, saying: “These nominations inspire not only us in the Department of Tourism, but also everyone in our country’s tourism sector to persist in our mission to share with the world the Philippines’ beauty in terms of nature, heritage, and culture, and also the warmth of our people.”
From Cebu’s pristine beaches and iconic festivals to Palawan’s untouched splendor and the country’s rich cultural fabric, the Philippines continues to make a strong case as a world-class travel destination. These nominations reinforce that message globally.
Voting Now Open
Public voting for the awards is open until October 27, 2025, and can be accessed via the official Wanderlust Travel Awards site at wanderlusttravelawards.com. Over 200,000 unique votes are expected this year, with winners determined entirely by the traveling public.
Secretary Frasco also encouraged Filipinos and foreign friends to support the Philippines: “Let us show the world how our love for this country, teeming with natural wonders, a rich culture and heritage, and a people that are always welcoming to guests near and far, will help boost our reputation as a leading destination to love.”
Winners will be announced at a grand event on November 5, 2025, at the National Gallery in London, United Kingdom.
