On-the-Spot Hires and Mentorship Mark Cebu’s Go Negosyo Roadshow

The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) reaffirmed its commitment to empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and strengthening the local workforce by supporting the first provincial run of Go Negosyo’s “Trabaho at Negosyo” roadshow on May 9, 2026, at SM Seaside City Cebu.

This landmark event marked Cebu as the first provincial venue for Go Negosyo’s pioneering job skills and entrepreneurship roadshow. Hundreds of job seekers and aspiring entrepreneurs flocked to the venue, eager to access free job matching opportunities, mentorship sessions, and support services from both government and private sector institutions.

One of the most celebrated highlights was the number of applicants who were hired on the spot (HOTS) during the job fair, reflecting the strong demand for skilled workers and providing immediate employment opportunities for many Cebuanos.

Mentorship and MSME Empowerment
The Cebu Chamber played a key role in the Business Mentoring Sessions, where distinguished business leaders and entrepreneurship mentors guided MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs on growth, innovation, sustainability, and enterprise development.

Among the Chamber representatives were: Regan Rex King, CCCI President, Melanie Ng, PCCI Director and VP for MSME Development, Past President, Felix Taguiam, PCCI Regional Governor for Central Visayas, Past President, Virgilio Espeleta, Past President, Ma. Aleta Dela Calzada, Trustee, and Joy Lorena Segismar, Executive Director.

Their participation underscored the Chamber’s dedication to building a resilient, innovative, and future-ready entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cebu.

Through initiatives like Trabaho at Negosyo, the Cebu Chamber continues to champion programs that bridge employment and entrepreneurship, recognizing MSMEs as vital drivers of job generation, innovation, and inclusive economic development.

President Regan Rex King emphasized this vision, stating, “Together, let us build a Cebu where opportunities are accessible, enterprises are empowered, communities are uplifted, and growth becomes prosperity shared by all.”

As Cebu continues to recover and grow in an increasingly competitive global environment, the Chamber’s support for initiatives that create jobs, strengthen enterprises, and uplift communities remains steadfast. The success of the Go Negosyo roadshow in Cebu sets the stage for future collaborations that will further empower Cebuanos to thrive in both employment and entrepreneurship.
