New CBRT Service Connects Il Corso to Cebu IT Park

Cebu City marked a major milestone in modernizing its public transport system with the launch of the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) service. Officially starting introductory operations on March 13, the new route now links Il Corso at the South Road Properties (SRP) directly to Cebu IT Park, offering commuters a faster, more reliable way to travel across the city’s north–south corridor.

The CBRT is designed to run at an average speed of 25 kilometers per hour, allowing passengers to complete the trip between SRP and IT Park in about 35 to 40 minutes. This is a significant improvement compared to traditional road-based transport, which often faces unpredictable traffic delays along Natalio Bacalso Avenue, Osmeña Boulevard, and N. Escario Street.

For residents of City di Mare, visitors to Il Corso, and nearby communities in Talisay, the new system provides a convenient and efficient option to reach Cebu’s key business and commercial districts. By expanding access to employment hubs, the CBRT strengthens workforce mobility and supports the city’s growing economy.

Filinvest Land, Inc. (FLI), developer of Il Corso, welcomed the launch in collaboration with the Cebu City Government. FLI President and CEO Tristan Las Marias emphasized the importance of connectivity in driving local progress: “The strength of a city lies in how well it connects people to opportunity. Initiatives that improve access between communities and economic centers help support local progress and create environments where people can live, work, and thrive.”

At the southern gateway of the route, Il Corso continues to serve as a vibrant waterfront lifestyle destination, offering dining, leisure, and open-air experiences along Cebu’s coastline. With the CBRT now in place, Il Corso is more accessible than ever, reinforcing its role as both a community hub and a gateway to Cebu’s economic centers.

As operations expand, the system is expected to serve tens of thousands of passengers daily, reshaping how people move across the city and strengthening the ties between communities and opportunities.
