Fujifilm Unveils X half, Highlights Shift Toward Vintage-Inspired Digital Storytelling

Photography’s analog revival takes a modern turn as Fujifilm Philippines debuted its newest digital camera, the X half, during the immersive four-day Fujikina Cebu 2025 festival held from June 6 to 9. The event brought together photographers, content creators, and visual storytellers to explore how nostalgia, creativity, and cutting-edge tech converge in a new era of storytelling.

Inspired by vintage film cameras, the X half reintroduces the charm of analog with a vertical digital format, boasting a 17.74MP 1-inch sensor and a compact, retro body that blends seamlessly into everyday life. More than just a nod to the past, the camera is a response to the rising demand for authenticity and spontaneity in content creation, especially among Gen Z users and lifestyle creatives.

At the heart of Fujikina Cebu was a dynamic content creation tour across Cebu City and Mactan Island, where participants tested the X half in real-world settings—from photo challenges in urban streets to golden-hour boat rides. Fujifilm’s new 2-in-1 mode, which captures photo and video in a single frame, was among the standout features, enabling users to create emotionally rich, multi-dimensional stories.

The public festival, held June 7–8 at Ayala Center Cebu, offered hands-on experiences with Fujifilm gear, exclusive access to limited promotions, and the ever-popular “Touch and Try” zone. Attendees also enjoyed free camera cleaning services, interactive booths, and photography showcases that celebrated the beauty of imperfection and realness.

Complementing the experiential side were #FUJIFILMPHTalks, a series of conversations and workshops led by top photographers in genres like portrait, product, and street photography. Speakers emphasized not only technique but the emotional core of image-making—a message reinforced by the X half’s purpose: to help users document life as they live it.

Fujikina Cebu 2025 marked the event’s first expansion outside Manila, following a successful 2024 debut. And while cameras were the stars, it was the sense of community that turned the spotlight on the people behind the lens.

The Fujifilm X half is now available at select retailers nationwide. For more information, visit @fujifilmphilippines on Instagram or follow them on Facebook.
