More than half of Filipinos expect the Covid-19 crisis in the country to end this year, results of a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.
Twenty-nine percent of Filipinos hope that the crisis will end in the first six months of 2022, while 23 percent expect it to culminate by year-end.
Meanwhile, 45 percent said they expected the crisis to end after 2022.
The SWS survey was conducted from Dec. 12-16, 2021. It had 1,440 respondents.
The respondents were also asked if they wanted President Rodrigo Duterte to make Covid-19 vaccination in the country mandatory. Fifty-one percent agreed, 17 percent were undecided and 31 percent disagreed.
Forty-nine percent also said they wanted to prohibit unvaccinated individuals from dining in restaurants, while 36 percent disagreed with the no-dine-in policy for those yet to receive vaccines.
The country began administering Covid-19 vaccines in February 2021.
